I was commissioned to develop an illustration for the book "The Forgotten God" by Douglas de Oliveira depicting Nebeth, the youngest son of Ra, and his Nothing-Worshipers.
"Nebeth or god-man, was born without magic growing up unhappy and helpless. Suffering from his condition, the goddess Isis advises Ra to bestow some gift on Nebeth, and so the Sun god makes him a necklace that holds the powers of the Sun. Grateful for this, Nebeth then sets out to help mortal men, but human peoples always credit their deeds and prayers to other gods and never without remembering Nebeth. Growing in wrath, the god-man revolts and creates for himself a wave of worshipers by raising the dead, later, in order to take revenge on mortals, Nebeth demands that his devoted Nothing-Worshipers punish the realm of men by sending them plagues and desolation."
